Fantastic Socialmatic!

I recently splurged a little and bought the new socialmatic camera/tablet from Urban Outfitters! At first glance it looks like the instagram logo, and honestly I had doubt that this hipster looking camera would live up to the hype but I was quite surprised. The screen is small looking but it's about the same size as an iphone 5 screen and works just as well. You can download apps such as Facebook, instagram, and even snapchat! Not to mention all the other apps available from the android play store. There is even a "screen capture" button that allows you to take internal pictures on your tablet, then you can choose to either, edit, add filters, or crop the imagine and then print it out instantly! I printed photos from my instagram and they turned out amazing! The printer quality is great for and resolution on the camera is amazing too if there is enough lighting. It does get a little tricky the darker the room, but the camera also has flash. For a small camera/tablet I would say it does great and I'm already in love with it. I recommend it highly if you love the feel of a polaroid but like being able to choose what photos to print out and also like having a handy little tablet around. The camera is a little pricey though, on amazon it's going for $299. On the bright side it comes with film and you have the option of choosing white or black. The film is also cheaper than fuji and you get more for your dollar. It;s something you should look into if you have some extra cash and feel like splurging on something fun!
Here's a link to view the camera on amazon, it's currently no available online at Urbanoutfitters but is in store at the Northpark mall location.

tinkerbell cosplay at dallas fan days

Dress by Me
My Tinkerbell cosplay was a huge hit this past weekend at Fan Days. I had many people stop me for pictures and even some little ones coming running asking for a picture or hug. I always enjoy seeing little kids faces light up when they see their favorite characters, but it's also just as amazing seeing adults do the same thing. Tinkerbell will be at other conventions in the future as well since it was such a huge hit. So if you missed out on a picture this time no worries! I enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends, thanks for being so sweet and for all the compliments.

Gotham inspired outfit (Selina Kyle)

In honor of tonight's episode of Gotham, I threw together a quick Selina Kyle inspired outfit/cosplay. Definitely the comfiest thing I have ever worn and will be rocking this outfit this winter. Getting this outfit together was a piece of cake and if you need a last minute halloween costume this is something to consider. The main things you need are a leather jacket(mines pleather because it's cheaper) and a grey hoodie. You can easily make steampunk googles or find them at a Home Depot since they are just welders googles, I didn't have black gloves but finding an old pair and cutting off the fingertips won't be hard to do. I already own a pair of gothic boots but any pair of boots could work for this. Be aware this outfit is very hot for Texas weather. If you live somewhere where it's cold during halloween then you're in luck! Also check back as I'm going to try and create more outfits inspired by Gotham's characters as we get to know them which is going to be challenging but fun!

Ronald Mcdonald House.

Last Saturday some fellow cosplayers and I volunteered at the Ronald Mcdonald house in Fort Worth to help cheer up some families dressed as super heros and princesses (I dressed as Alice). This was my first time to volunteer at an event like this and normally I'm not good with kids but these kids were so well mannered, polite, and so appreciative to see us and spend time with real superheros and princesses. Even the adults were excited to see us and so sweet and thankful that we were there. I had a great time and enjoyed playing games, running around, and taking photos with the adorable little ones. It was such a blessing to be there and can not wait for the next event.

Ray Gun Prop

super sonico space police ray gun prop
This is the prop space ray gun I made for a super sonico cosplay that I never got around to finishing. Although, I did love putting together this gun and still have it just in case I need it for any other cosplay. This gun was very easy and inexpensive to make, and I will be doing a few tutorials on how to make ray guns and others like it in the near future so keep checking back. It's still one of my prized props I have made because its so cute and purple!

Alice and The Red Queen

Alice and the Red Queen cosplay
Geline Spinks from gelinespinksphotography and I cosplaying as The Red Queen and Alice. Geline took a punk rock/edgy turn for her red queen cosplay and I added a little some platform shoes to make my Alice special. Over all I enjoyed this cosplay and running around taking pics with Geline.
Alice in wonderland cosplay
Another from the Alice shoot. This was back when I had the perfect hair to cosplay as Alice, but that's what wigs are for.

Alice in wonderland

This saturday I will be one of the many cosplayers volunteering at the Ronald Mcdonald house to put smiles on the childrens faces. I have never done an event like this and I am pretty excited about it. I wanted to stick with a Disney theme since more kids can recognize those characters, so I chose my Classic Alice cosplay. The photo is from an adventure with my friend Geline to the auboritum when they had the Alice in wonderland area set up I dressed as Alice and she dressed as the Red Queen. Our costumes had a lot of hits and people asking to take photos or even asking if we worked there. I'll be posting more photos of Alice and the Red queen later on so be sure to check back soon.

Steampunk harley quinn

By Geline Spinks Photography
My steampunk Harley Quinn from earlier this year. I always loved Harley Quinn, shes such a silly villain. I am really in love with the hammer for this costume, my dad helped me build most of it because I'm not great at working with metal. The entire thing probably weighs 10 pounds and is tiring to carry but worth it. It's my favorite prop Harley quinn uses so I really wanted to go all out!
-Side note: If you ever need any pictures done for cosplay or anything check out http://www.gelinespinksphotography.com/ She's amazing, you can always expect beautiful photos from her!

Quicksilver and Polaris

Quicksilver and polaris cosplay at north texas comic book show in dallas
A few weeks ago I went to a small convention with one of my best friends Geline and we cosplayed as x-men characters. I went as a girl quicksilver and Geline went as polaris. My costume was a quick thrown together outfit, but overall I thought it looked pretty good. I bought my wig from a costume shop called Norcostco and it is one of my favorite wigs. it's very lightweight, and my head could actually breath, plus it had adjustable straps and to top it all off it only cost $30.00. I could have went with a more grey jacket but I liked my iridescent one I had bought from lipservice and decided to make my girl quicksilver a little more girly. My goggles were borrowed from Geline, and my boots I had bought a while back from electric boutique. My costume was not my best but for a last minute cosplay I think I did ok.
